So I have been thinking more and more about the next cosplay I want to work on, and partly down to always loving Star Wars, and partly down to my lovely girlfriend who is planning a Jedi cosplay, I have decided to make a Sith.
I do not intend to copy a canon Sith - I want to create my own and add a unique brand to the Sith Empire.
It is only a vague assortment of ideas, but this is what I have so far:
Black trousers and boots - Nothing fancy, going for a simple look to not distract from the rest of the costume.
Red sash across the waist - To help break up all the black.
Some form of bandages or lower arm guard - Bare arms doesn't feel right, but I want something on my arms.
Claw on left hand - I am thinking this will be done with jewellery on each finger. Think the witch from the new Conan film.
Naked torso, but decorated with scars and tattoos - I want a savage look, but I also feel that in a lightsaber duel, skin would stop a lightsaber just as much some cloth would. I'm not sure what tattoos I want however.
The big problem I'm having is my face. I can't wear contacts, and a helmet would seem odd. So scars, tattoos and warpaint are the main things that come to mind. I have been suggested some form of wrap, one that goes from the top of the shoulders up to my mouth, which personally reminds of Raziel from Soul Reaver.
Lightsaber will obviously be a red bladed one, and I am looking at importing one from the USA from a company called Ultraforge. I have seen one that has three long metal prongs attached to the hilt that follow the blade for roughly six inches, which just scream Sith.
So there is my current idea. If anyone reads this and cares to offer any thoughts, feel free to comment

Ayacon - The aftermath
Whilst what I'm about to say won't mean anything to those who never went, one word sums up the weekend - ANIME!
So, in my previous journal entry I mentioned that I was concerned about not making friends with anyone. In the end I didn't, though I did chat with a couple of people, so it wasn't too bad. Though there isn't anyone I properly exchanged details with to stay in touch or anything. Speaking with one girl whilst waiting for the masquerade led to a bizarre situation of discovering how small the world is, in that we went to the same primary school in Germany, which considering we were talking at event held in the middle of the UK, was ver
Countdown to Ayacon 2013
So in just over a week, I shall be arriving at Ayacon, my first anime convention. I've done MCM Expo multiple times before, but from what I have been reading of Ayacon, it will be a very different feel indeed.
Even though it is at Warwick Uni which is only a short bud ride away for me, I decided to stay there, so that I have everything on hand. So I can change my costumes, not have to keep my shopping on me all day, and if I need to escape for a bit I don't have far to go.
There are numerous events on over the course of the con, and whilst many don't appeal, there are several that have caught my eye. From Conventions 101: A Newcomers' Guide w
MCM Expo - Manchester 2013
Well, tomorrow will be MCM Expo Manchester, what is one the largest heat waves that has been in the UK for some time. Hopefully the heat won't be so draining as to ruin the day.
I have done MCM Expo in London several times, as well as Birmingham (which acts differently due to Memorabilia being attached to it), but have never been to the Manchester one before. I'm not expecting it to be as grand as the London version, but as I couldn't go earlier this year, and October being so far away, I thought I should treat myself to the trip and go.
I'm going to be taking my Robin costume, though not get changed into it until I arrive - It isn't the comf
